All that was needed to know about them though was that they were not harmless. What rest alongside that warrior though was a great evil that has been reawakened thanks to the seal being broken. Now Japan is filled with a tribe of monsters which are left unnamed for quite a while. Before his return, researchers were looking into a tomb of a fallen warrior. The beginning of the story has Godai Yuusuke, an adventurer who comes back home to relax before his next big trip. Kuuga had a big gap to fill in, so how does this new legend do and how well does it still hold up? This would then be the first big role for a legend now these days, Arakawa as head writer for the first time. From memory Ishinomori only worked on beginning concept ideas for Kuuga while it was people like Hidenori Ishida who brought it into completion. The biggest difference was that Kuuga didn’t have the most involvement from the creator of the franchise, Shotaro Ishinomori who sadly passed away in 1998.

Then while RX was still airing into the beginning of the Heisei era, Kuuga is still noted as the beginning of this era even with the movie riders still being around first. So Kuuga came back after a six-year gap for the franchise.
Then there were films during the 90’s with the third and final one being in the year 1994 with Kamen Rider J. The last series was Kamen Rider Black RX which had a mixed reception, but that was still 1988 till 1989. Kamen Rider Kuuga was the return for Kamen Rider in the year 2000. More and more official releases are still coming with the next release for Kamen Rider in the States is Kuuga.
